Overlanding Lifestyle

- In Wander we Lust

Overlanding is to travel to remote destinations where the journey is the goal. For many years men and women have taken this step using any means necessary. Hiking, Lamas, Bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses, old ambulances, old ex military vehicles and even a tractor (Manon Ossevoort) first woman to travel via a tractor!  All crossed international boundaries to set up camp with nature.

Being self sufficient and not relying on a system that provides a level of service, facilities, lodging even comfort. Stepping away from the comfort zone of conveniences to an avenue full of uncertainties does make you wonder.

Is it Wonder or Wander – to get inspired.

- We Chose to Wander

To the most remote regions of the world. To embrace the local culture while respecting their traditions and lifestyle. To make new friends  along the way for the main purpose of sharing experience with no deadlines to meet.

We embrace the risks, logistics and difficult terrain (some we want to take, some we must take, and some we need to take). Limitations are constantly tested, endurances are challenged that of ours and that of our trusty Land Cruiser Amiga.  The purpose of the truck is for reliability, comfort, and safety from the elements. To take you from A to B to Z (and sometimes back) with the least amount of problems.

We can become restless in our day to day life. Choosing a lifestyle to overland can take a toll specially if we are used to comforts of the city or being away from family, friends and loved ones. However, we can remain in contact with anyone with the internet’s availability almost everywhere.

We embark slowly, taking nothing  but pictures, leaving nothing but footprints, sharing our experiences with locals and other travelers, being mindful and humane while petting cats and dogs along the way. We all loved camping from early on so it was natural for us not to ignore the calling for the Adventures of Overlanding .

- Time is something that we can never take back, buy, sell or stop.

Everyday is a new day, either when you are stationary enjoying the moment & the solitude of where you are, planning your next destination, or driving to the next one. Overland is a lifestyle with a new blessing, a new challenge and a new achievement where ever we are on the planet.

We have fun roaming and wandering. We keep moving by staying quiet with little or no impact of our environment through out our journey. When we see people in need or other fellow overlanders who are experiencing a mishap, we stop assist any way we can.
